What is GlobalBlock? A game changer for brand protection
In this blog, “What is GlobalBlock?”, we look at the basics of this exciting initiative. Brands consistently grapple with the vast and cumbersome domain name system. The large proliferation and growing number of domain names spaces presents a persistent challenge for brand owners. Malicious entities exploit this extensive domain name landscape, frequently registering brand-related domains across various TLDs, aiming to deceive or defraud consumers.
Navigating the domain name ecosystem, with its 1600+ distinctive TLDs, imposes a substantial burden, particularly on businesses managing multiple brands or products. The financial strain of safeguarding one’s digital presence across each domain space is impossible. This challenge is further compounded by the impending introduction of new gTLDs in 2026.
In response to this escalating issue, the Brand Safety Alliance, under the stewardship of industry veterans Tony Kirsch and Ben Anderson, has orchestrated a groundbreaking initiative. Leveraging their extensive network of Registry contacts, they have spearheaded the creation of GlobalBlock. This innovative service stands as the world’s inaugural unified domain name blocking service, heralding a new epoch in online brand security.
GlobalBlock’s mission is to amalgamate an expansive array of domain name spaces, offering instantaneous blocking of available names that correlate with your brand. This service spans hundreds—and, prospectively, thousands—of domain extensions, providing brand owners with a previously unattainable level of protection.

However, we also offer GlobalBlock+, which includes all the benefits of GlobalBlock with premium features such as advanced monitoring and dedicated support.
For brands looking for long-term protection, there is an an option to lock in the current rate for a three-year period.
