In the domain name industry, corporate domain name Registrars often piggyback on their data centres’ ISO certification to claim that they meet compliance requirements, but the domain name management system itself, or portal, does not meet the ISO standards or has not been certified.

When conducting vendor review, be sure to ask whether your domain name management provider is ISO certified, not just the database provider that they use (e.g Amazon), which is just one component of the domain name technology ecosystem.
