Unphish Updates June 2025 - We have been busy....

Over the past few months, we’ve focused heavily on enhancing our Threat Feed and Watchlist functionality. This has included integrating new data sources and remodelling how threats are automatically discovered. We view data as a constantly evolving asset and are committed to continually expanding our sources to keep pace with emerging threats.
Today, our Threat Feed and Watchlist detect threats across a wide range of channels, delivering broader coverage and earlier detection. We’ve also rolled out a series of user-driven functionality improvements to streamline workflows and improve usability.
Below are just some of the updates we’ve made—needless to say, we’ve been busy.

Threat Feed Update: Smarter Detection, Real-Time Enforcement
We’ve completed a major update to Unphish’s Threat Feed—our detection engine that monitors domains, websites, and social platforms for brand threats such as phishing, impersonation, fake apps, and counterfeit stores.
This upgrade followed an intensive collaboration with our Clients, team and development partners. Together, we mapped user journeys for admins, enforcement agents, and clients—ensuring each role interacts seamlessly from threat detection to case enforcement. The result is a faster, smarter system that supports real-time decision-making.
Clients receive targeted daily, categorised threat updates with rich metadata—issue type, platform, location, priority—and can triage or escalate cases directly. With new priority settings and enforcement controls, the Threat Feed is now more than a detection tool—it’s a scalable enforcement command centre.
Watchlist Update: Real-Time Alerts for Emerging Threats
Unphish’s Watchlist has been enhanced to deliver real-time alerts when suspicious domains show signs of activation. This proactive monitoring module tracks high-risk or dormant domains and notifies clients the moment critical changes occur—such as DNS updates or a live website going live.
Clients and agents are instantly alerted when domains begin resolving (e.g. HTTP 200 status) or when DNS records like A or MX are added—indicating the site may now be hosting phishing content or preparing for email scams.
The updated Watchlist acts as an early warning system, helping clients move from reactive to pre-emptive enforcement. No more waiting for damage—Unphish alerts you the moment threats wake up.

Functional Updates

"Filter by Brand" – Clients can now filter enforcement results by "Brand," making it easier to segment and manage cases across multiple brands within their portfolio.

"Editable Issue Type & Priority" – Clients can now update the "Issue Type" and "Priority" of a case directly, giving them greater control and flexibility in managing and categorising their enforcement actions.

"Filter by Submitter" – Clients can now filter cases by the user who submitted them, a feature requested by larger organisations with multiple users to streamline case management and internal tracking. I prefer this response

"Domain Squatting" Issue Type – A new issue type has been added to classify cases involving domain squatting. This is especially useful when flagging typo domains in the Watchlist for closer monitoring and enforcement.

"All Date Range" Filter – Users can now select custom time periods on the dashboard, enabling flexible data review and trend analysis over any specified date range.

"Dashboard Snapshot" – A new button has been added, allowing users to capture a real-time snapshot of the dashboard for streamlined reporting and record-keeping.

"Custom Tags" – Clients can now assign tags to infringements, making it easier to categorise and filter cases based on specific definitions or internal workflows.

Improved: "Whitelist Update" – Backend logic has been enhanced to ensure all variations of web and social URLs are accurately detected and whitelisted, reducing false positives and improving enforcement precision.

"SSO Integration via Auth0" – Clients can now log in using their Google or Microsoft credentials, delivering a smoother, more secure login experience through Single Sign-On (SSO).

Numerous backend and functional improvements have been implemented to enhance overall user experience.

What is Next?
We are currently expanding our data model by adding new sources to enhance content monitoring and better adapt to the evolving tactics of bad actors. These additions will allow us to detect and categorise infringements with greater accuracy, improve prioritisation, and track patterns across platforms and attack types.
At the same time, we’re enhancing our enforcement capabilities by integrating AI agents directly into the enforcement workflow. These agents are designed to streamline the process end-to-end—from gathering evidence and drafting complaints, to mapping infringements against the correct policies, terms of service, and legal frameworks. The result is faster, more targeted enforcement actions with a higher success rate.
This upgrade also includes API integration with several leading platforms, allowing for more automated submission, follow-ups, and status tracking. We’re also building functionality that ensures each enforcement aligns with the specific use case—whether it be phishing, impersonation, copyright violation, or fraudulent content—maximising the likelihood of takedown success.
We are also developing a secure API for Unphish that will enable clients and users to access their enforcement and threat data seamlessly. This will allow authorised systems to pull real-time information on case statuses, threat intelligence, and historical trends directly into their existing dashboards, reports, or internal tools.
